Vision Code

Exam Hall, Trinity - 26th September from 2PM - 8PM

Vision Code has been teaching core coding skills to teenagers who are blind or have low vision, using Python and Micro:bit kits. From here, they have been co-creating projects, applying their coding skills in different disciplines, and using coding as a gateway into wider Science Technology Engineering, the Arts and Maths.

At START 2025, the young people themselves will show you the sound-based projects they’ve been making over the summer. Come and listen to some genetic code, kick off some self-generating music and test your ability to match a sound. Want to know what the future sounds like? Visit us at the Vision Code stand to find out.

Vision Code is a partnership between Trinity College Dublin Civic Engagement and Fighting Blindness, funded by the Taighde Éireann Research Ireland DISCOVER fund. It has been made possible by the young people themselves, their families, and FÉACH – the organisation advocating for families of young people who are blind or have low vision.
